Review of the 2025 Project Conference
That was the FLOW project conference on November 22, 2025, at the Kubus in Leipzig: many familiar faces alongside new ones, encouraging opening remarks by Roland Krämer (National Biodiversity Monitoring Center) and Dr. Jens Salva (German Anglers’ Association), exciting presentations on stream sponsorships (Andre Holzinger) and stream restoration (Dominik Borrmann and Matthias Hartmann), Open River Sense (Urs Bösche/AI Workshop), project development and watercourse restoration (Sabrina Schulz – DUH & Ruben van Treeck – WWF), insights from FLOW fieldwork and results, information booths, and many great conversations.
Once again, it was inspiring to see how many dedicated and knowledgeable people and stakeholders across Germany are committed to monitoring and protecting waterways.
A big thank you to the wonderful community and all our supporters—FLOW will continue in 2026!

The fifth FLOW field season runs until the end of June 2025! Over 70 groups across Germany are once again actively investigating the condition of their streams. We’re thrilled to share these great reports on the fieldwork. You can read them here:
